Wyze Cam v3 is an older model, but an older camera can still be the right choice when its features match the job. Wyze's own US store currently says v3 is no longer available there and points shoppers to v4; that does not by itself tell you whether a third-party seller has stock or whether v3 suits your use case. Check current availability and the exact condition of the item you are buying.
What v3 offers
Wyze specifies 1080p video, color night vision, two-way audio and local microSD recording. Its current technical specification page lists IP65 weather resistance for Cam v3, with separate considerations for outdoor power. This can make it a candidate for a suitable covered or outdoor installation when all wiring and accessories meet the manufacturer's instructions.
Why compare the newer models?
Wyze Cam v4 raises the published video resolution to 2.5K and adds a built-in spotlight. For this store's WYZEC4 model, however, the latest certification evidence does not verify water resistance, so an older v4 IP65 claim should not drive an exposed-weather choice. Wyze Cam Pan v3 stays at 1080p but adds pan/tilt movement and motion tracking, useful if one fixed angle is insufficient.
What to check before ordering
- Is 1080p adequate for the distance and detail you need?
- Can you supply stable power and compatible Wi-Fi at the mounting point?
- Do you need a microSD card for local recording, and is one included?
- For outdoor use, have you checked the required adapter, cable route and placement?
- Are any cloud features you want available under the current plan and in your region?
The best choice is the camera whose documented capabilities match your installation—not simply the newest number on the box.
