The IMX415 8MP 4-lane camera module comes in two versions: one with a switchable IR-CUT filter, one without. Both use the IMX415 sensor, a 4-lane MIPI interface and an M12 lens covering a 98 degree diagonal field of view. They are aimed at embedded boards such as RV1103 and RV1106.

| IMX415 IR-CUT 98 Degree | Switchable IR-CUT filter for day and night modes, controlled by software over a GPIO line (for example from Raspberry Pi GPIO) |
| IMX415 98 Degree | Same sensor and 98 degree lens, without the IR-CUT filter |
Platform support
- Intended for RV1103 and RV1106 development boards; on Raspberry Pi or NVIDIA Jetson the camera driver must be adapted by the user
Choosing the version
- Without IR-CUT: a fit for scenes with steady visible light, such as indoor inspection, a lit workshop or a desktop vision project.
- With IR-CUT: a fit when the same camera has to work in daylight and under infrared light at night. The filter keeps daytime colours accurate and can be switched out when it gets dark.
Questions to settle before you order
- Frame rate and video modes. These are not specified.
- Whether a cable is included, and its length.
- Unit weight, if your mount or gimbal has a weight budget.
A figure we left out
The parameter table gives a lens distortion of under 33%, while the lens drawing gives under 1%. Because the two contradict each other, this guide does not quote a distortion figure. If straight lines matter to your application, test a sample.
