Sometimes a standard camera board is simply too big: inside a model, a narrow pipe, a small robot face or an instrument panel. Chinneo's 5MP camera module with integrated 30cm FPC cable puts an OV5647 sensor in an 8.5mm x 8.5mm head at the end of a 30cm FPC cable. The camera and cable are built as one piece.

Why a one-piece design helps
With no connector at the camera end, the head stays tiny and there is one less joint to come loose. The 30cm cable lets the Raspberry Pi sit some distance away. The cable ends in standard 15-pin contacts with gold plating. The lens is a 76 degree low-distortion fixed-focus lens, and the sensor is the same as the Raspberry Pi Camera V1.
Questions to settle before you order
- Your Raspberry Pi model. The cable ends in 15-pin contacts, so boards with a 22-pin camera connector, such as Raspberry Pi 5 and the Zero series, need a suitable adapter cable.
